Hello

My name is Joel Foster I grew up in Utah, where time outside and time with family have always been a big part of my life. I’m someone who values meaningful relationships, thoughtful design, and doing work that reflects both. My faith plays a quiet but steady role in how I approach life and creativity—it helps guide my priorities and how I show up for the people around me.

As a designer, I’m naturally curious and hands-on. I like building things that are both practical and personal, and I’m always looking for ways to make ideas more useful, honest, and long-lasting.

My Story

I’m a designer and maker who’s most at home when I’m building something—whether that’s a new pair of shoes, a piece of furniture, or a better way to work with an iPad.

My creative path really started in high school, thanks to an incredible ceramics teacher and a woodshop teacher who encouraged me to push boundaries and explore ideas beyond the assignment. That early hands-on experience gave me the confidence to experiment and laid the groundwork for how I approach design today.

I got into footwear design because I’ve always been curious about how products work—and how they can work better. Shoes, in particular, caught my attention because they combine function, comfort, and style in a way that impacts people every day. I’ve worked on everything from hands-free golf shoes to cleats that offer more support where it’s needed most, always trying to solve real problems through design.

Woodworking has been a creative outlet for me for a long time. There’s something about working with physical materials that’s just different—it’s slower, more intentional, and really satisfying. I’ve built everything from ski racks to custom tables for clients, and it’s pushed me to keep improving my craft and learning new skills.

Right now, I’m focused on merging those two worlds—digital and physical. I’m launching Skizze, a flush iPad drawing board designed for creatives who sketch, design, and work across different setups. It’s part of a bigger goal I have: to keep making thoughtful products that are actually useful and fun to use.

At the end of the day, I just like figuring things out, making products better, and sharing what I learn along the way.
